  1. Billy Warren introduced the program for the day:  the premiere of a 35-minute segment of “Take a Minute…Read the Sign.”  This high quality video was developed and narrated by David Hope, with Shane Wilson as the videographer.  David and Shane developed the video through a contract with Florence City Schools.  It highlights 34 of the historic markers in the Shoals, with most of them in Florence.  Everyone present agreed that the video fills a need that has long existed:  to record and elaborate on the historic markers that have been erected over the years by the Florence Historical Board and other entities.  David Hope was present, and he announced plans to expand the project to cover all historic markers (90+ in Florence/Lauderdale County; 20+ in Colbert County.)

Billy thanked Jerry Dowd for operating the equipment necessary to make the presentation of the video.
